For Christmas I purchased a large map, scale 1 to 500,000, of Hrvatska, Croazia. It's from the Austrian company, Freytag and Berndt, who make folding autocarte or road maps. The scale is very detailed, more than any other map I've found. I purchased it at a map store for $11 but you might want to try Amazon first.
