There is a Stef. Ilijevic 29 who came to the U. S. on the Neckar arrived in Baltimore May 1914. It looks like he came from G. ????ana. Nearest relative from whence came his wife Mara Ilijevic. The next person on the list is Miko Bacan coming from Glinska. Nationality says Hungary but language is Croatian and country is Croatia. Is this him? Where did he settle? Elaine
Dear List, I sit here in Cavtat, Croatia wanting to encourage each of you to continue your pursuit of finding your roots. I began two years ago with absolutely nothing at my fingertips and here I am spending time with my family and three weeks in the most lovely country imaginable in a jewel of a village south of Dubrovnik. There is only one other person I have "met" on this list researching in Cavtat and I certainly encourage him to come here and meet any family that may be here. I have found the people inviting and encouraging of my endeavor and the Church records, cemetery and town full of my family information. I had the great joy of meeting Niko Kapetenic in person after my relative spotted him on the side of the road near his old family home in Konavle when we were on our way out to dinner . I am afraid without papers in front of me, I may have spelled his surname wrong, but I am sure you know who I am referring to. I took a photo at the cemetery for the gentlema! n who is researching in Cavtat because I recognized his family name and it actually joins into my family tree a few generations back. Best wishes to all!!
