I'm sure you also know that many of the Orthodox churches including Serbian still follow the Julian calendar. As the product of a mixed marriage (Croatian and Serbian) as children we always celebrated two Christmases (12/25 and 1/7) and in case you think political correctness is a recent phenomenon in this country, anybody who opted to miss school January 7 in the steel town where I grew up was permitted to do so.
