    3. You can see the results of the 1947 census in a book listing all Croatian surnames reported in the census, including variants and mispellings. The book presents the surnames in alphabetical order, with the name of each village the surname occurs in, and how many in that village had the surname at the time of the census. The book is: Leksik prezimena Socijalisticke Republike Hrvatske (urednici Valentin Putanec, Petar Simunovic) Zagreb: Institut za jezik, 1976. -- xiv, 772 p. It is available at many large libraries, and certainly in some university libraries. I know it is at the NY Public Library at 5th and 42nd as well as at UCLA and I believe in Toronto. If you can't find it at your closest municipal or university library, maybe posting your lookup request on this list or on the <soc.genealogy.slavic> newsgroup will result in some kind soul with access to it making the lookup...
