Greg, could it be that your John Marion Cruse b 5-2-1837 could be of the same family as my husband's, Rufus M. ( Marion?) Crewse? Rufus was b abt 1820 TN, Nancy Crewse head of household 1830 and 1840 Rhea Co, TN was his mother. We cannot find who the father is yet. 1830 census for Rhea Co, TN has Nancy and Martin as head of households. Martin census is 1 male under 5, Martin 20-30 and wife 16-20. 1840 Census Nancy is still head of household and Martin is not listed it is now Mary Ann head of household with 1 male under 5, 1 female under 5, 2 females 5-9 and 1 female 10-15 and 1 female 30-40. We think Martin, Rufus, Martha who mar Martin E. Paul, Jane who mar P.M. Holloway, and a Hardy are siblings. We see that sisters of John Marion have some of the same names as in Rufus' family, of course I admit they are common names. Carol
