This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------17C6BDDF23E30A83AA09480B Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I am forwarding a message. Please let me know if it doesn't appear. This is from correspondence from my Douglass side, but please read down aways. Can anyone identify Dawson Thompson CREWS? As an aside, our Douglass family traces back to John (Bruce) DOUGLASS m. Judith MOORMAN.(1731) Since there were also Moorman/Crews connections, that is what started all this. There are WELLS and CREWS marriages into the OGAN family from MO and later in CA, so there must be connections. I'd like to find those connections so maybe you all can help me out. First this info I pulled from Family Tree Maker: William Templeton Berry was born ca 1776 in Madison Co., KY. On 29 Feb 1804 (Madison Co., KY) he married Rhoda Crews, born March 1780 in Bedford Co., VA, dtr. of David Crews and Annie Magee. She was previously married to William Moorman, 17 May 1792 in Madison Co., KY. William and Rhoda Berry came to what is now Boone Co., MO in 1812. Wm. died in 1845, Rhoda died bef. 1850 census. William and Rhoda had two children, David Crews Berry and Eleanor McGuire Berry. In Histories and Genealogies there are Dawson marriages to Maupin and Thompson marriages to Dabney. In 1850 Missouri census James Crews, born in VA, age 77, was living with Jacob and Frances Smith. I don't know the connections here, I'm grasping at straws hoping for some later clarification. Here are my connections: Ann Ogan (b. 1809 Madison Co., KY, d. 1842 Linn Co., MO), dtr of John Ogan and Polly Douglass, m. Aug 1833 in Boone Co., MO, Dawson Thompson Crews (1812 - 1890, ID). He married (2) Margaret Ann Yates. Their child was Leonides Elonsil Crews. My grandmother had an old clipping of Laura Crews, the actress (died in 1942), and said that she was related. Laura Crews was one of the witches in"The Wizard of Oz". I'd like to know the relationship. Parthena Catherine Ogan (1838, MO - 1875, CA) dtr of John Martin Ogan and Lucy Ann Harris, m. Dudley Wells (1829, MI - 1907, CA) 1856 in Milpitas, CA. They had twins, were married into the Stockton family of CA. Does this Wells family tie in? Ransome Perry Ogan (1844, Linn Co., MO - 1916, L.A., CA), son of Irvin Ogan and Rebecca Jones, married 1879 in Linn Co., MO, Sarah Jane Wells (b. 1860, Linn Co., MO, d. 1926, Riverside Co., CA). Who were her parents? There is one more Wells/ Ogan marriage in CA later, son of Madison W. Ogan. Maybe some of you can help me sort these out. Thanks, Chet --------------17C6BDDF23E30A83AA09480B--
