David H., You've really kept me busy today! I visited all the sites you mentioned and gathered as much as I could get. Re: Message #4 - I didn't have this James or his children. This must be the James some people suspect is father of John CREW b. c1630 d. 1660. I wish they included more dates or something. So frustrating. Re: message of STANLEY data - I printed out all the STANLEY, CREWS, and other names that I found. This one is a real treasure-trove! I recommend it to all of you. Re: message of CREW-STANLEY data - Really early stuff but I find no connection. I did take what I could for future ref. Re: John CREW deed - Thanks for that. Re: Will of John PLEASANTS - Fascinating PLEASANTS data, tons of it. The only CREWS/PLEASANTS marriage I have is John CREW who m. Sarah PLEASANTS in Halifax Co, Va. This was back in the 1760s or so. He was brother of Richard. I guess a nephew of Sarahs' could have been named after her husband John. Re Message #9 - Did you write to Brian Walls? I found his reference to the death date of John CREW interesting. If he was b. 1660 and d. 1713 then it's definately NOT the John CREW who m. Sarah GATTLEY! Re: John CREWS - I don't recognize those parish names, either. Sounds very English to me, but I don't know. Don't have any Symon/Simon CREWS (or CRUSE) in db that early. All are much later. ........................ Donna & all, I don't how we can get so many marriage lists and still not have all the CREWS marriages. Every one seems to have more people we don't have! It's absolutely mind-boggling. But thanks, Donna. They'll go into the db, too. ........................ Rosemary, I run all my DOS programs under Windows, too, but they won't print on this printer. I think I'll get my old one back from my son, Casey! My 'puter doctor said the printer probably isn't configured to print dos. It says "For Windows" right on the front of it! Wish I'd known what THAT meant when I bought it. ........................ Posted by Lyn Swan in 1994 to Worldwide Gen. Message Board <[email protected]> if she's still there. 2453 Geranium St, S.D. "Other possible allied families are PEDIGO, GLAZEBROOK, DODDY/DOWDY, CRENSHAW, ALLEE/ALLEEN and others. From IL land records it appears members of most mentioned families moved to IL starting around 1838. Most to Wayne and Cass Cty. Migration continues at least into the 1850's as the Mathew Hooper MONROE family (my line) moved to Cass Cty, IL in 1852. He's the only one I'm positive about!" .................................
