    3. DEED BOOK 14 (1780-1790) BRUNSWICK COUNTY, VIRGINIA [These abstracts were prepared by Carol A. Morrison of 3217 Friendly Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304, Telephone: (910) 323-5830. All rights are reserved.] This Indenture made this the seventeenth Day of January in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty Between Joseph Tooke of the County of Brunswick and Province of Virginia of the one part and John Crew of the same County and Province of the other part Witnesseth that . . . for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds Current money of Virginia . . . doth give grant bargain sell and enfeoff and confirm unto the said John Crew . . . a Certain tract or Parcel of Land situate lying and being in Brunswick County . . . on the south side of Fountains Creek containing by Estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less and bounded as followeth, Viz, BEGINNING at a Scaly bark hickory on the said Creek on Peterson's Line thence along the said line to a Corner Pine on the County line thence along said line to a Corner white oak in the said County line thence a straight line to a Corner Red oak on the said Fountains Creek then Down the said Creek to the first station . . . Signed Joseph Tooke. Witnessed by Henry Walton, John Roper, Henry Mangum, Isaac Ledbetter. At a Court held for Brunswick County the 27th day of March, 1780. This Indenture was proved by the oaths of John Roper Henry Mangum and Isaac Ledbetter witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. Deed Book 14, page 3.
