I know, not very original, but it's got "CREWS" in it. All day Sunday I tried to get on & d/l but Prodigy wouldn't answer the phone. That's an AWFUL feeling! So I opened up a Puzz 3D puzzle that I wanted to have going by Christmas so the kids could try it out, too. I was so curious to see how they worked. I like it! Now I'm having a hard time staying away from it! First of all, Hazel & Chuck, thanks for all the WICKER, TALLEY, CREWS data. I guess I don't have the latest decisions on this line, but that's what this list is all about. TO GET IT RIGHT! David H. We had John CREW and Marygery ELLYSON in the db, but everyone else you posted is new. Thanks so much! Donna, What a nice offer for someone, a copy of that picture! To All, I have searched the db for any RALPH/RELPH/RAFE/REPH people, but came up dry. Does that name ring a bell with anyone? David H. Re: CREWS-WICKER marriages I had all the ones you mentioned except 3 couples. Edward CREWS & Jane WHICKER and John CREW & Elizabeth MASSEY. Maybe Hazel can tie Edward in for me? We do have a John MASSEY & Elizabeth CREW but her name is Sarah Elizabeth C. CREWS and she was b. 1856 Patrick Co, Va. Much too late to be m. in 1837. I don't suppose that CD gives any indication as to parents, etc.? The info on the Battle of CREWS farm is so fascinating! That's much more than I knew! A couple of years ago I got a day by day description of the campaign of Gen. Sterling PRICE to take St. Louis, MO in 1865. Because of these descriptions I was able to pinpoint the exact date my GGGF was captured by Gen. PRICE's army. I already knew where and how and what happened later because of a family booklet written by an uncle, but we didn't know even what year it occurred. Now we know, Sep. 30, 1865. Anybody out there know who owned this CREWS farm? I haven't checked out your latest websites, yet, but I will. My time is getting tighter the closer it gets to Christmas. To ALL, The searchable archives are temporarily out of disk space. I don't know if this effects our list, but it may. They'll have more space by next month for sure. The URL for searching most lists is http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi- bil/listsearch.pl A few lists (ROOTS-L and some of the gatewayed lists) are accessed instead through http://searches.rootsweb.com Don't ask what gatewayed lists are. Instead, tell me. No, don't bother. We are ROOTS-L so maybe that mean us. They're hoping to get that split tidied up soon. Are you interested in threaded archives? Again, no clue! http://lists.rootsweb.com/~archiver Hazel, I had Caleb CREWS, s/o Joseph CREWS & Massey JOHNSON. Do you have any children for his son, Meredith? I guess I won't get to post any new data today. Time is getting tighter & tighter and I want to be sure to tell you all how much I appreciate all the help! Jimmie Cassidy - YES, we have Melchizedek and his ancestors & desc's! But we would love to compare notes & make sure you and we both have the same data. I have names & addresses for a couple of other desc's that aren't online that you can also talk to and I'm sure we have desc's of the same line, but not necessarily Melchizedek himself. (I love that name! There are no others like him!) Also John "Turkey" CREWS. Who gave him that nickname? You must know Jim Crews of MO? He uses the same nickname. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL! Let's pray for a happy, healthy and successful 1998! Find those clues! Pat
