Found this on the Worldwife Genealogical Message Board Archive, Ancestry , Inc. It was posted 30 Nov 1995 by John Dwiggins <72713. 2027#compuserve.com> and sent to Roots-L Genealogy List. I'm just posting part of it. If anyone want all the post, let me know. "My line of descent, all in Davie County, NC is: John DWIGGINS (to the best my research indicates at this time) died 1815 in Rowan Co, NC (the area that became Davie Co. Daniel DWIGGINS (1779-1856) m. Ursula CREWS (1785-1867) Ashley DWIGGINS (1805-1889) m. Mary HOLMAN (1802- ) Daniel Holman DWIGGINS (1835-1916) m. Louisa E. VOSS (1837-1931) John Henry DWIGGINS (1858-1943) m. Mattie SMOOT (1861-1910) Rufus DWIGGINS (1900-1991) m. Pearl HENDREN (1910-1994) John Charles DWIGGINS Sr. (1935-1994) m. Jerleen BASINGER (1937- ) John Charles DWIGGINS Jr. (me) (1955- ) "There were apparently two Dwiggins families in North Carolina in the late 1700s and early 1800s. One was John Dwiggins descendents that were in Rowan/Davie/Forsyth counties and the other was Robert Dwiggins descendents in Guilford County. Most of the Guilford set moved on to Tn , Ind, OH and Ill in the early 1800's. The only male member of the Davie set that I know of that left the state in the 1800s was John Dwiggins>Robert Dwiggins>Robert Dwiggins moved to Tennessee." Ursula (or Usley) CREWS was d/o Thomas & Mary CREWS of Stokes Co, NC. The cemetery list that Bob posted yesterday seems to be of the Robert DWIGGINS line mentioned about which is so intriguing because there are also so many CREWS buried there. I'll list her family again: children of Thomas (b. c1753) & Mary CREWS (I have no parents for him) 1. Ashley b. 1779 m. Catherine ___? 2. Mary b. 1781 m. Solomon WARREN 3. Ursula b. 1783 m. Daniel DWIGGINS 4. Saley b. 1785 m. George JORDAN - Any relation, Bob? 5. Constant b. 1787 m. Benj. WICKER 6. Patsey b. 1789 m. ____ DWIGGINS - Who was he? 7. Elizabeth b. 1 Jan 1790 m. Archelous DEAN 8. Mildred b. 1791 m. Jesse FRY 9. Thomas b. c1795 m. Sarah BAXTER 10. Masey b. c1797 m. Jesse FRY I have a feeling that those two lines were related to each other. Notice in Bobs' list that there is a Milly FRY d. 1821. That's Mildred CREWS listed above. Looks like she was only 30 when she died, then Jesse married her sister, Masey. Other family names JORDAN. Was that George JORDAN listed above? Was another name Saley, or Sarah JORDAN. Oh, he also listed a Martha DWIGGINS wife of Robert. That must be #6 above, Patsey and she married Robert DWIGGINS? NOW WE KNOW! This is fun! But I don't see any more links. Anyone else see anything? Most of those listed are later generations, but it would be wonderful to know how they tie in. .................................. I have a suggestion for all those doing postings here. As I've been going back over older postings I find that those that capitalize the last names are ever so much easier to read. I've decided to go back to doing that myself and I'd like to urge the rest of you to do the same. .................................. from Tom Miller <[email protected]> Parents of Madison BURDETTE who m.
