    3. Hazel or David, How does Joseph fit in with "our" Crews family? (Massey Crews who mar. Thomas Whicker). 3. David, would you like to take a shot at answering Kay's question? I can only guess. The article says it was thought to have been built in the late 18th century. Joseph (who md. Massey Johns(t)on) died before 1759 so I doubt it was he; however he had a son Joseph who might have built the house but which Thomas was it sold to? Thomas CREWS who md. Mary WHICKER was a grandson of Joseph CREWS (who md. Massey JOHNS(T)ON) so was it sold to that Thomas CREWS? The Thomas WHICKER who md. Massey CREWS although born in VA actually md. Massey in 1786 in North Carolina. This Thomas had a wife prior to Massey by the name of Sally Talley whom he md. in 1780. (I do not know where.) The article says Thomas CREWS sold the house in 1830. It doesn't seem this Thomas WHICKER & Massey CREWS had anything to do with it....So I am back to square one. What have I missed?
