Crews was listed as 25 in the 1850 Hempstead County Census making his birth 1825; In the 1860 he was listed as 44 born in Tenn - making his birth about 1816. He died about 1863. A grandson was named John CARROLL, so his middle initial could be for that name. His first son was John Pleasant Crews. I can only hope.
