    3. Can anyone shed any light on these two? 1820 Rhea Co, TN tax list in Capt. John Ramseys Co, Hardy CRUISE and Stephen CRUISE were listed; 1 white poll, no acreage. 1821 Rhea co, TN tax list in Capt John Ramseys Co, were Stephen CREWS and Hardy CREWS, both 1 white poll and no acreage. 1822 Rhea Co, TN in John Baker's Co, was Hardy CRUISE, 1 white poll, no acreage. 1824 Rhea Co, TN in Capt. Swan's Co,was Hardy CREWS 1 white poll, no acreage. Supplemental Tax List taken by collector 1825 and returned to court after tax list was made out for that year and 1824 was Stephen CREWS, 1 white poll and no acreage. 1830 census Rhea Co, TN Nancy CREWS (b. 1780-1790 Prob. NC) is head of household, and with her children is enumerated her son in law Martin E. PAUL. Martin E. Paul mar Martha Creuse in 1829. Martin and Nancy received a land grant on Walden's Ridge for 500 acres in 1831. Also head of household is Martin CREWS a young married couple with 1 young son. Nancy and Hardy CREWS mortgaged the 500 acres and everything they owned in 1837 to a Mr. Gillenwaters. My thought is to pay Martin PAUL for his half of the land grant. 1840 Nancy CREWS is head of household with 3 children at home. Martin PAUL is also head of household. Mary Ann CREWS (probably Martin's wife) is head of household with 5 children. 1838 Mary CREWS has 2 children in school; Nancy CREWS has 1 child in school. They were in School District #1. School District #1 was on the Northwest corner of Rhea Co, TN on Walden's Ridge. Thanks, Carol Boykin
