    3. To HHMc@aol.com Re. your 6/24/99 post about whether John MC BRIDE m. Nancy CREWS was s/o Thomas MC BRIDE, I can see why you question it. It appears that the W. H. Miller manuscript lists John as s/o Joshua MC BRIDE? I saw this in some old Prodigy bb notes posted 11/21/95 by Pat Ray. This is ALL I know about it, and I'm sure Pat posted everything she knew about it in the notes (if not, I'm sure she'll jump in), but it may be worthwhile getting the info from that manuscript. Here are the pertinent excerpts from the bb notes: 11/21/95: Here's another version of the David Milton Crews/Annie Magee/Mildred Williford saga. Copied from the W. H. Miller manuscript in the Library of Eastern KY, State College, Richmond, Kentucky 5/10/56. "Children as named in his will by his first wife, ANNA MAGEE. ..<snip>.. 6- NANCY CREWS married JOHN M'QUEEN, to whom DAVID CREWS, Senior, March 3" 1802 conveyed 150 acres of land on the waters of Muddy creek. ..<snip>.. JOSHUA M'QUEEN died in Madison County, Ky, leaving his Will dated June 27 1811, probated Oct. 5, 1812, recorded in Will Book A, page 656. Witnesses: THOMAS CLAY, NESTER CLAY, WILL RODES and ROBERT A STURGESS. Wife, JEMIMA M'QUAN. Youngest children as named in the Will: 1- THOMAS M'QUAN 2- CYNTHIA M'QUAN 3- PEGGY M'QUAN 4- JOSHUA M'QUAN Executors: Son, JOHN M'QUAN and AARON CORNELISON. Older children-other than JOHN M'QUAN-not named 5- JOHN M'QUAN married NANCY CREWS, stated above. (from previous page) (End of notes - Jo) Also, while I have your attention <g>, does Donna Porter have an email address where she can be reached? In her book "Metes and Bounds II" she listed Mary "Polly" CREWS d/o David CREWS and Mary STANLEY as marrying Charles BALLEW III. Her book is the only place I've seen this, and I would REALLY, REALLY love to know her source because these are my ancestors. Thanks for any help you can give me on this. Jo
