He was a son of Alexander. I have a scan(117k) of part of Colleton Co from Mills' Atlas which shows the church location(spelled Brien) and the location of the Crews homestead in 1821. The family was in this area during the Revolutionary War and some migrated to Camden Co.,GA in 1815/1816. If you would like a copy send me a short note and I'll send it to you.
