Thanks David for forwarding the message from CGAutry. It is a bit disappointing that Reuben and Elizabeth's dates weren't there but I kind of suspected that they might not be after reading through the notes on the web page. We do have new information out of this though - and that is Sarah's birth and death dates. My previous info on Sarah was that she was born about 1846 and died age 14. Hazel noted that she does not have dates for any of these people. Let me fix that. Reuben Jordan Crews (ca 1803 - ca 1853) m. 26 Nov. 1828 to: Elizabeth Yarbrough Philips b. ca 1814 in South Carolina d. Sept. 1854 Children of Reuben and Elizabeth are: 1. Charles Constantine Crews - b. ca 1830; served in Confederate Army; married a widow Martha Hampton Gunn. They eventually ended up in New Mexico according to family members. Do not know his death date. 2. Leonidas Crews - b. Oct. 23, 1831 in Thomaston, GA; d. Jan. 17, 1903 in Hamilton Co., TX. m. May 30, 1861 to Sarah Helen Coachman. 14 children. Was a surgeon in the Confederate Army. 3. Algernon Crews - b. ca 1833 died about 2 years of age. 4. James Mortimer Crews - b. ca 1836; death date unknown. served in the Confederate Army. 5. George N/M Crews - b. ca 1838; death date unknown. 6. Fleming Jordan Crews - b. Dec. 17, 1841; d. Oct. 4, 1905; m1 Jan. 7, 1862 to Juliette Wynn, m2 Dec. 26, 1872 to Helen Eulia Wynn. 11 children. served in the Confederate Army. 7. Jackson Philip Crews - b. ca 1844; d. before Feb. 20, 1879. graduate of Emory & Henry College in Virginia. was a Baptist preacher. 8. Sarah (Sally) E. Crews - b. Dec. 20, 1845; d. July 29, 1861. Hope that helps to fill in a few holes. Charlie On Sun, 14 Nov 1999, Hazel D. Knight wrote: > David, > Your message from CGAutry helps clarify a few things.
