Someone posted sometime ago info. relating to Lincoln and his Secretary of War, William Stanton after the Civil War. Supposedly Lincoln & Stanton ordered the hanging of about 10,000 Confederate soldiers and sympathizers. The hangings were done in the Washington Navy Yard. One gallows could hang 10 people at once & the hangings went on for over two years. Elmer A. "Bud" Houser may have made the post or else was credited for the information. In any event I seem to have lost most of the posting and would like to know more. Can anyone help me? Hazel
