Dan and Chuck, Have followed your messages re. the Crews who md. Hannah Hunt. For whatever it is worth: I have Benjamin Franklin CREWS, Jr., son of Gideon CREWS, Jr. and Temperance Lemay. B.F. CREWS, Jr. born 11 Dec. 1809 Granville Co.,NC md. 1st Fannie ELLIS on 18 July 1829 and md. 2nd Hannah HUNT on 12 Aug. 1845. Each marriage produced 3 known issue. Some sources: Hays Collection at the Richard H. Thornton Library in Oxford, NC stating Emma Lunsford was the wife of Benjamin's son, Eugene T. CREWS & thusly Benjamin had 2 wives only; Fannie ELLIS & Hannah HUNT. Publication 25 June 1929 in the Oxford Public Ledger, Oxford, NC newspaper states Benjamin F. CREWS, Jr. was the father of A. CREWS and J.B. CREWS and Eugene T. CREWS, well known men over the county of Granville, NC. I do not know why this Benjamin Franklin CREWS carried the Jr. inasmuch as there were lots of Benjamin CREWs, as you well know but the only other Benjamin Franklin CREWS or CREW I could find was Benjamin Franklin CREW, son of David CREW and Sarah GOOCH so I guess that one would be the Senior. Sorry to rattle on so but wondered if this would be of any help. Hazel
