This information came from Jim Crews of Stockton CA and I hope to get in touch with him to find out more. And, coincidentely at about the same time Hazel gave the same name to Brenda. I'm hoping you have more info on that, Hazel? About that time we were still trying to work out the exact lines and we had the data a little mixed together, but still, her name must have come from somewhere. Do they show up on any marriage list? They may not because of the earliness of the marriage. I don't believe I've seen it. But we do have an exact date for the marriage of John CREWS & Sarah Gatley, although I think it's about a year later than it should be. But I wonder where that date came from, and how? Was it publ? I won't ask you to send a copy of that court record, but could you give the highlights? Virginia, Willis Norman CREWS had a son b. 1919 so he must have died after that. Have you tried getting his death cert? It doesn't sound like you know where he died though. You may have to start with Normans' death cert and look for the b/place of Willis on that, and the name of Normans' mother. Or look for Normans' b/cert. You're big stumbling block on all that is knowing the places/counties. I think Davids' suggestion to look at the census records is your best bet. You can look in the index book for each state to find Willis Norman CREWS and then look at his records. We have a Calvin CREWS in the db with a son, Willis. Here's him and his children just in case they might help.
