    3. Frank, I received the articles yesterday and thank you so much. I can see what you mean about the b/d of Alexander CREWS and Dempsey Dubois CREWS, etc. The article probably wouldn't have been written if not for the fact that the GRANDFATHER of Rev. Thomas CREWS had been born 200 YEARS earlier than the date of the article [1955]! And that puts his b/d in 1755. He couldn't have fought in the Rev. War if he was b. in 1775 like we thought. 1. We have abt 1750 as b/d for John, father of Alexander. That date has to drop down to at abt 1730/35 and we might just look all the way back to 1700 for him. 2. If Alexander was b. in 1755, he was 30 y.o. when Lucy DUBOIS was b. in 1785. 3. Since Alexanders' first child was b. abt 1795 when he was 40 and Lucy only 10, he must have had a first wife (actually we have 4 ch. for her so we know she existed) and she died about 1804 and probably in childbirth since their last child was b. in 1804. And Lucy and Alexander were married in 1804. 4. Lucy was 19 when she married and became step-mother to 4 children 5. Alexander was about 30 y.o. when his brothers were born starting in 1785 and he was 50 when the last one was b. in 1805. These b/d's were the main reason we rejected Lucy HARDWICK as their mother since John CREWS & Lucy HARDWICK were married in 1795. But why was there a gap of 30 years between Alex. and his brothers? 6. Alex's last child was b. abt 1827 when he was 72! An amazing man! I've got to think about all this for awhile. And I hope others will comment on this. It's all so hard to grasp. i.e. If the mother of Alexander was 20 y.o when he was born then she was 70 y.o. when she gave birth to his brother, John. OK, so maybe there was a second wife who m. his father, John, about 1784. But there's never been a mention of another wife for John CREWS. Strange. Pat
