Folks, I'm not if sure anyone wants this, but I've attached a copy of a Hunt descendant chart. It now includes marriage ties to six different Crews. Hunt (-) sp: Rom Parker (-) 3-David Alexander Hunt (-) 2-Mourning Hunt (17 Jul 1792-) 2-Ann Taylor Hunt (27 Jul 1794-) Note 1: Frances Penn (born 30 Jan 1756, and wife of John Hunt, Sr.) was the daughter of Joseph Penn and Mary Taylor. Joseph's brother, Moses Penn, married Mary's sister, Catherine Taylor. Their child, John Penn (Frances' double first cousin), signed the Declaration of Independence. There is a memorial to him at the Guilford Courthouse in North Carolina. Note 2: Frances Penn had a grandmother named Catherine "Pendleton", and, of course, many grandchilren and great-grandchildren who married descendants of the "Gideon Crews" who died in 1815 in Granville Co., NC. These names are of interest for the following reason. A month or so back I queried the group about a "Gideon Crews" who lived in Amherst County, VA and who died in 1798. You may recall that this Amherst Gideon lived in a home that is now resided in by the President of Sweetbriar College. To date, no one has been able to place this Gideon Crews (or his son Joseph), yet interestingly, this Gideon was also an acquaintance of both "Penns" and "Pendletons" (for example, he witnessed the sale of land from a John Penn to a Joseph Penn, he is mentioned in a George Penns will, and a James Pendleton is mentioned in his sons will). It may just be a coincidence, but I think its interesting. Dan
