    2. Donna K Carpenter
    3. Hello ! I added some items to my ALA ANCESTRY Home Page. Among other things.... 1. Put a GED2WWW file with a master list of 3939 names, over 800 surnames. 2. Added well over 200 names to the CARPENTER tree. These names came mostly from Mrs. Ross's book and were the more recent ancestors. 3. Added John Allen BRAMLETT death certificate, wedding license and Bible record. 4. Added a letter from Charles SPRAYBERRY describing his ancestry from Francis Marion SPRAYBERRY, Sr. on down. 5. Put my AVERY page back up. Placed "Caution!" labels on the Thomas Avery, Sr. d.1761 line and made some modifications. I left all the other ancestry outlines on my page and added the master index as I just got Familytreemaker's 6.0 version and it made it simple to connect even sidelines together into one tree. Let me know if you see any mistakes (I know there must be some). Thanks for everybody's help. 3. I have the same book on the CREWS family from Laura CREWS, it does not go back any farther than John CREWS and Elizabeth SAMPSON (I think that Johnson CREWS may be in error, as I have NEVER seen him referred to as Johnson in ANY records that I have for him). John and Elizabeth did have a son named William Johnson, which is where I suspect that name may have been extrapolated from. I am descended through John and Elizabeth's son James. I have sent queries to this list several times and though I have received a few responses, have never (that I recall) received any from other descendants of this line, so I'm just grateful to know there are others of us out there! :-) It is interesting to note however, that though Laura Crews' book covers the particular branch of that family that went to OK, there was an even greater number of them that went to the Crawford/Lawrence Co. area in IL. I have quite a bit of information on this branch should anyone wish to contact me regarding them. Finding the father of a John CREWS b. 1768 in Halifax Co., VA is like unto finding a needle in a haystack from what I can tell. I have recently seen records in Halifax however that appear to link the CREWS and SPRAGGINS families (William Johnson CREWS md. Amelia SPRAGGINS in IL), so there may be hope yet in being able to trace this particular CREWS line back farther than our John and Elizabeth. If anyone has any more information on this line, I would love to hear about it! And I'm willing to share whatever I have on descendants of James or others of John & Elizabeth's children who went to IL. Thanks!
