From a microfilm of Sighthill Cemetery entries for 1906-1913 : 1906, December 29th entry...Catherine CRERAR wife of Donald CRERAR of 76 North Woodside Road. #3, class K. Age 60 years. Died the 27th, buried the 29th, Saturday at 2:30pm.. Script number A900 [or A910]. Lairowner Donald CRERAR, Lair 83, class 7 buried at 6 foot level. Private : 1.2.6. [These last numbers are unknown as to what they mean, no GBP signs to indicate money but the column structure is the same as I've seen elsewhere for recording money taken in]. There is a column for 'Disease' but it contains no information, none were filled in that I viewed. This film is evidently of ALL burials at Sighthill for 1906-1913 with the information above. There are literally thousands of pages, most are quite legible and the filming was done well. Some pages are soiled or darkened near the bottom edge but it doesn't obscure any writing. The information contained is not of much genealogical value except for possibly the Lairowner's name and age at death, perhaps the column detailing where the body arrived from will be of some use. Its usually a residence but many entries have the name of a hospital or Poorhouse. Many are simply names of stillborn children as male or female and a given or last name only. There is NO name Index, all entries are in date order only so you must know the date of burial or at least the date of death which is usually pretty close to the date of burial. Write to me if you have any other CRERARs [or other names] that I can check on this film while its here. I have it until mid January, 2011.
