Hey Richard B! Yes, the homeland of the Yuchi is only about 50 miles from where I live - in the Hiwassee River Valley. That is where they were massacred by the Cherokees. However, there were still lots of Yuchi communities in Georgia and South Carolina in the early 1800s. Also, there were documented Yuchi families speaking Yuchi only 35 miles from here as late as 1911...so where did they go? No one seems to know.
