In the 1960's I frequently drove from Columbus to Macon, GA on two laned US 80. On n side of road was a wooded area with unpaved dirve/entry road which had a large (at least 12-15 ft high) curved entrance archway that appeard to be wrought iron and possibly concrete. The upper curved concrete part bore the word Ucchi or Yucchi. Never explored what the area was. It has been more than 40 years since I was through there so it may be long gone. Is there any one familiar with this site? Margie Barden
I believe that is where the golf course is now, I drove down the dirt road and around the curve was a beautiful golf course and club house...I think the concrete and wrought sign says "Welcome Yucchi Reservation". There is a holistic veterinarian who has owned that property. It is also a human health facility. It is called Yuchi or Uchee Pines. It is between Columbus Ga and Seale, Al. Barbara M.H.
