    1. [CREEK-SOUTHEAST] Brashears and Dees
    2. I have two questions for people: (1) Brashears I recently came across some information that may connect my ancestors to the Brashears family. I have seen various things on the web that state the Brashears family was Choctaw, while others say they were Creek. So I am looking for more information on an Anna Brashears. She was living in the Alabama, Tombigbee or Tensaw settlements in 1789. She had a daughter named Maria baptized that year. I have seen a lot of information on a Zadoc Brashears, but I do not know if they were related or not. Most of the information I have on him say that he was MOWA Choctaw. My ancestor Richard Tarvin/Turvin, who was Creek, lived on the Washington Co., AL side of the river. His brother William Tarvin/Turvin lived on the other side near Tensaw. Richard's neighbor was Adam Hollinger. (2) Dees For all of you Dees descendants out there, have you come across any connections to Mountville, Troup Co., GA? My gggg-grandmother was Elizabeth Dees (b. 1805, Mountvile, Troup, GA; d. 01 Oct 1872, Tarentum, Pike, AL). I have been mostly reasearching my Tarvin ancestors and their connections to Sizemore, Bailey, Stiggins, Weatherford, Boone, etc. My Dees connection is on the other side of the family, Galloway. What intrigued me is that one of my grandmother's cousins participated in the Tarvin DNA Project and they returned a percentage Native American greater than I have proven in my research. We asked him to participate because his father was my g-grandmothers' brother and his mother was my g-grandfathers' sister. So there is someone else out there that was also Native American. I figured I would start with Elizabeth Dees, since she was born in a Creek laden area of GA. I also need to delve a little further into the Wright and Todd connections as well. Thanks, Amanda
