I would guess that's not your ancestor on the Creek Roll of which you speak. Now, Matilda was AL in 1860, have you established that Wyche was there also? Or was he still in MS? Or some other state? Was he deceased perhaps? Census information need not cost, aside from a 10-30 cent for photocopying. I don't know how new you are to genealogy researching............but...........if there is a genealogy library in your area you can access ancestryplus.com and heritagequest.com for free! Better yet, the library may be equipped to issue you a library card with which you can then access heritagequest.com from your home computer!!....FREE. BTW, do you have James C. PACE in your database. He's listed in the (M704-Roll 215) 1840 US Census-MS-Carroll County-page 42; 20-30 years old with one WF, 15-20. If your Wyche was born in TN, could he have migrated to MS to join his kinfolk (if James is indeed his kinfolk). By the information you presented I calculate Wyche was abt. 23 years old in 1840. When did he and Matilda marry? What were their children's names? Did you find Matilda in the 1860 US census or MS state census? I found two PACES for Al-Winston County-1870 US census at heritagequest.com below. Well, I don't want to wear out my welcome. Hope this helps.
