Yes, some of the early Glissons may have intermarried with the various Indian tribes. Alas, I do not trace my ancestry to Obediah, though I have tried to. I am a descendent of Anne Glosson the daughter of Hugh Glasson who may have been the son of Hugh Glasson Sr. or else of Joseph Glawson. In any case, we are descended from Joseph Glawson. One person is trying to trace this line further. Joseph Glawson is perhaps the son of a James Glawson. The name is perhaps an anglicized form of Glisson (Glisson just means to gloss or glaze, probably a name for a glazer or a glassmaker), but I just have not gone back to that point. I do understand that some of the Glissons married into the Lumbee tribe, which was a mixed tribe too! That is it included Indians plus! --cew
