Looking for information on my 6th great grandmother Patsey HICKS who married Quinney POWELL. On Patsey's grandson's Dawes application (Johnson MATHIS), it shows that chief John ROSS testified that he knew well Patsey and family and that Patsey grew up with tribe. Patsey had a daughter named Nancy MATHIS who had a daughter with an indian man and named her Minerva MATHIS (is this the M.M. MATHIS referred to on Minerva's brother's Dawes Application??) They lived in Randolph and Houston Co. GA, before the children/grandchildren moved to Cherokee, Macon AL then they moved to Pontotoc Co. MS/ Looking for any information on HICKS, POWELL or MATHIS relating to these families. Terrie
