They were very smart, light skinned, industrious. They picked up the way of the white man and built business which they were very sucessful with. That is why you can not find them. MAYBE you can on the Dawes Rolls. Sometimes on the Early Settlers Rolls. I know that it was said that Nancy Hazelwood was part indian. She lived in Hamblen Co.TN Her father was Blaney Hazelwood. He was supposed to be half indian on his mothers side. The Cherokee are more Olive skinned with Black to black/brown hair. Blue to hazel to brown eyes.( depending on the European who wed the mother) Judy
