He became ill in 1805 and may have abdicated his duties to another. Where ever the Speaker of The Nation lived, it became the central Town. Hopie is a male name. As for William Mackey, - he was of Cherokee ancestry and probably was a trader amongst the Creeks. There was a Mackey that was a Creek trader. In 1840, he was married and with Nancy Drew (Cherokee name) and had a daughter named Dollie born about 1864. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
