I am a direct line descendant also of the same line. My link is by way of James B. Ward and Elizabeth English. Their son,Benjamin Franklin Ward was my gggrandfather. It is all a confusing mess. There were several James', Johns' and Jacks' in the early Ward Clan. But yes,Nahoga did own land in Hickory Ground Town,now part of Elmo County, Alabama. It was from a land grant. Jack Ward was given a grant of land in Montgomery County, Alabama. Nancy Knight Ward was Nahoga's English name.
