Prehaps the "white family" recorded features on the property (tax records) in the courthouse in that area. I would also search the web for the "u.s. geological survey" for that area, and also if you haven't already get a copy of the county map from that state's department of transportation. Get the map with the largest scale ratio; if will have more detail. Much success in your investigation. Kenny Kenny
