VA 1752, died. The majority of what I've read states that he is buried in what is today Fort Benning, GA. HOWEVER, I believe that people have mixed up his wife, Sehoy's SECOND husband, John Tate/Tait, with him. Per the Lynn Hastie Thompson book on Red Eagle, p. 22, in 1780 John Tate was with Little Prince and a force of 1,250 warriors, headed for Augusta to aid the Tories, when Tate "became deranged". "The Creeks took him to Cusseta Town, where he soon died." There is a marker there at the entrance of Fort Benning. In my mind, there's no way that Charles just happens to be buried there also. Other sources say that Charles died in AL in about 1811. PLEASE, anyone, let me know what you have on Charles and where he might be buried. His mother was "Mary Half-Blood" from VA, first wife of Martin Weatherford b. Lunenberg,VA 1726. I believe my family comes from Martin's second wife, Isabella's son (Charles' half-brother) Richard, b. 1781. Any information on Richard's children would be most welcome. Thank you.
