It was a war title given for acts of courage. It's closest English equivilant would be "zealous" or "courageous" or "one who acts with great zeal or courage". It's often translated as "crazy" or "mad" which are incorrect. The closest term for "fearless" is "fexico" which means "heartless" (from fexe "heart", and iko "no, or not". As Mary stated, there is no "r" in Muscogee. The letter was used by Moravian misionaries who first translated and transcribed the language to represent the THL or HL sound, the closest equivilant being in the English word aTHLete. The muscogee word for fish is thlathlo (spelled rvro by the Moravians). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
