I know the info from LDS costs a membership.LDS volunteers are going to courthouses, coping information, then it is no longer on file at out courthouses, it will be on their site,...I know that is true in some counties. I agree, Ancestry.com is not what it used to be. They merged somehow...to pick up things I had placed on the old Message boards at Rootsweb, I have since found the true facts, which makes the old query totally wrong, but I can't find a way to get the wrong info off. I just stay off of all them, now, and write direct on the states digest that I get through Rootsweb mailing lists.. It is free, and you are talking direct to other researchers, on there. No matter how hard I tried to get my money back it won't happen. Now the credit card they had information on has expired, and they are now beginning to hound me to re-subcribe. No way! I submitted my family tree so others could benefit from my labors, only to find I need a subscription for the information I gave them. I think the copyright laws might be violated when they sell my information.
