    2. Kirby writes: I am trying to find information about a George Weekley that was killed at  Fort Mims in 1813. I am searching for the name of his wife. If you have this  information or anything else pertaining to him I would really appreciate  it. Thank you, Kirby Kirby, Please refer to Fort Mims and the Tensaw Settlement, which specifically lists George Weekley and his family. The book is published by Levender Publishing Co. Bay Minette, Al, 1993, for the fort Mims Restoration Assoc. On page 58 of this book they list the names of people who were either at Fort Mims, or had relatives who were killed there. It says George Weekley's wife and children were killed there, but that he had gone home to get supplies. It does not give his wife's name. On page 41 it says that George Weakley (Weekley) filed a claim after the massacre as reported in Frontier Claims in the Lower South , compiled byRichard S. LAckey, and refers to pages 31, 32 34 & 35, where the claims are listed. George's wife may be listed there. I hope this information will be of help to you and the list. Walt Tarvin
