I'll take a look myself. According to what information I have, Elijah died sometime between the 1860 & 1870 census'. On the 1870 census a daughter, Jane, is listed with Caroline as age 4. This would indicate a birth year of 1865/1866. Possible that Elijah returned home but died soon after the war ended . . .??? I have yet to locate Caroline and family on the 1880 census, but I did discover here death date and burial place. Let me know if you do not have. Are you aware of any descendants of Elijah and Caroline having the condition I described in my initial post? Melissa
