    2. Hey Barbara By Blackfoot Cherokee, I assume you mean Eastern Blackfoot or Saponi. Many Siouans from Virginia and North Carolina eventually took refuge with the Cherokees. However, since the Saponi never fought a war against the British or Americans, there was never a treaty with them. As far as I know there were also never any official Saponi rolls maintained by the Federal government. Saponi descendants are scattered all over the Midwest and Upper Southeast, but it is very difficult to prove their ancestry because of the lack of documentation. Richard T.
