Married a Creek Indian woman (unknown name) and possibly had a child named John O. Kelly. John O. Kelly had a son named "Toby" in his deed of land to his children. Among the other children: Susanna (Kelly) married William Steele and Elizabeth (Kelly) married Daniel Brunner. Brunner listed with a Creek Indian name on the Parsons-Abbot Rolls. I believe To Bi As Kelly and John O. Kelly had died before the Indian Removal beginning in 1832. There is a river called Toe River and a creek called Kelly's Creek and landing named for the old To Bi As in St. Clair Co AL which runs into the Coosa River. I believe descendants owned land across the Coosa River in Talladega Co AL. I believe one of the descendants of John O. Kelly, "Toby", is my g.g.g. grandfather who was born abt 1805 and came to Texas abt 1840 and died in Texas bet 1872 and 1880. He was called Tobias in documents in Texas and had a grandson named Pearson Otto Kelly going by nickname of "Tobe". I am seeking to prove a connection between the old To Bi As and John O. and Tobias Kelly.
just so you know, the BRUNER name is seen on many of the Dawes rolls, as the owner of the applicant. Some Creek were very well to do and had many slaves. I have seen alot of Dawes applications listing a BRUNER as the owner. This would be in association with surnames I'm working. I am not researching BRUNER and have no further info. Just trying to pass on a tidbit that might be new to you.
