I'll let you know if we do trace our North Carolina Joseph Glawson (also Glasson) to the Glissons. I thought Glisson was French for something to do with glass. Just like miller we might have glass-maker. Thus I thought Glasson was an anglicized version of the name. I know the Glissons are originally from France and came to England during the 100 years' war. --CE
