That is our name; it was sometimes Glawson, sometimes Glossen, sometimes Glasson, sometimes Glason, which sound maybe like translations of the French "glisser" (which means gloss or glaze or glass). We are descendants of Hugh Glasson who is a descendant of Joseph Glawson or Glason depending. The name later became Glossen, but sometimes still Glasson. --C. E. Whitehead
