Nancy Basic Herbal Home Remedies Date: Saturday, February 13 Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Location: Two Blue Feathers, Arab, AL Cost: $10:00 Presenter: Phyllis D. Light, RH In times past, every home had a closet for herbs, an herbal medicine chest used for the remedies needed for commonplace health problems. These herbs were used to maintain good health, for food, at the first sign of colds or flu, for the common aches and pains associated with overwork or arthritis, and diarrhea, constipation and other digestive disorders. This class will focus on several herbs commonly used as herbal home remedies and answer your questions about specific health issues. All materials will be furnished and we’ll make up an herbal decoction and an infusion. Herbal teas, as decoctions or infusions, are one of our oldest forms of both beverages and medicines. Since the dawn of time, humans have been using herbal teas as food and medicine to help support body processes, enhance immunity and build good health. In addition, they support the healthy functioning of organ systems. Contact Two Blue Feathers for more information. Community Wellness Clinic Intertribal Invitation When: Saturday, March 20 Time: 10:00 a.m. until ? Where: Two Blue Feathers, Arab, AL Community health educator and herbalist Phyllis D. Light, RH will offer a free consultation to anyone wishing to pursue a healthier lifestyle through natural means. The clinic will offer personalized wellness consultations, including herbal and dietary recommendations, and community health education. Please bring a list of all medications and all the over-the-counter nutritional products that you are already taking. Contact Two Blue Feathers to set up an appointment. Walk-ins welcomed but should come early. Plant Identification Walk: What’s Growing in your Backyard? When: Saturday, April 10 Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Where: Two Blue Feathers Presenter: Phyllis D. Light, RH Cost: $10:00 What’s growing in your backyard? It has been said that for every sickness God created a plant to cure it. Many of these useful plants are growing wild in our Southern yards and pastures. Join Phyllis D. Light for a look at Nature’s treasures in our own backyards and the traditional uses of these plants. You may be surprised at the treasures you have. In case of rain, the class will be rescheduled. Biography Phyllis D. Light, RH, has almost 25 years of clinical experience as an herbal consultant and healthcare educator to allied health professionals throughout the region. Her studies in Traditional Folk Medicine began in the deep woods of North Alabama with lessons from her grandmother, whose herbal and healing knowledge had roots in her Creek/Cherokee heritage. In addition to formal studies, Phyllis also studied with Tommie Bass and is considered an expert in Southern and Appalachian Folk Medicine. Through Diversified Nursing Services, Phyllis is a continuing education provider for nurses, nursing home administrators, physical therapists and assistants and occupational therapists and assistants. 1. Re: [CREEK-SOUTHEAST] Taloumy or Claire Cornells
    2. Good Morning, I also show Rosanna with Charles and Sehoy 3, with her husband and children. I was going to look in my Weatherford book but all my books are stacked in our living room (putting in hardwood floors) so I couldn't look up where I may have got this Rosannah McGillivray from. Thank you , p.s. where did you get your information from? I always like to know where we all find our information. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Page" <flkeybob@terranova.net> To: <creek-southeast@rootsweb.com> Cc: "Betty Wadford" <Fjwadford@aol.com> Sent: Monday, January 18, 2010 2:05 PM Subject: [CREEK-SOUTHEAST] Taloumy or Claire Cornells >I show Sophia, b. 1744 - Jeanette, b. 1748 - Alexander b. 15Dec1750 - but > show Rosanna as daug of Sehoy III and husband #3, Charles Weatherford, b. > 1752.
