Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5R.2ADI/955.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hello Faye! My apologies for such a long delay. But I am still very much interested in receiving your decendency chart, please. I'm still desparately searching for my kin: Catharine (sp?) Skinner; (I think she may have been Alonzo Wiggins' mother) Alonzo Wiggins and his spouse Annie Blackshear Wiggins (my grandparents) Annie Blackshear, and her father Hector Blackshear (my gg) Nonie Wiggins (my dad) all from Eastman, Dodge County, GA. I've found some info from census records (1880, 1910, 1920, 1930), but not much more about who their ancestors were, and where they came from. (possibly DE or MD). An elderly cousin (Willa White Moses) told me about my relatives an referred to them as Aunt "Liza" Skinner, Uncle "Charley" Skinner, and Aunt "Kate" aka Catharine Skinner, who she said were of full Cherokee row, but I just can't make the connection. It's all still a mystery and I have figured out all of the relationships. I'm really focusing on Alonzo Wiggins (who was listed in 1880 as mulatto) , in hopes that I can verify his parents and lineage. I found some Skinners, Blackshears and "Wigins" in Twiggs Co, GA (1880 Census). I can't get into the census records because there is a broken link, but I have been able to match the "first names" with a different variation of spelling of the last name (i.e. Alonzo Wigins or Wiggins, and Nona Wigins or Wiggins, along with Catharine Skinner). This is why I'm really interested in your research. I would be most grateful if you would e-mail to me a copy of your decendant chart. This would be most helpful to my search. (E-mail: wjw94@aol.com). Thanks so much! Best regards, Mikki

    3. Greetings everyone, Debbie mentioned her ADKINS, ADKINSON, ATKISSON family last week. I'm looking for relatives of Eliza Adkins of DeKalb County AL and later Blount Co. AL where she married Henry Wadkins (Watkins) in 1861. The following is what I know so far. I have been told that they were both "Indian" by my oldest living family members. I think that Henry was definitely Cherokee but Eliza may have been from another tribe. 1850 United States Federal Census Name:   Elizabeth Adkins Age:   6 Estimated Birth Year:   1843 Birth Place:   Kentucky Gender:   Female Home in 1850 (City,County,State):   District 24, De Kalb, Alabama Alabama Marriages, 1809-1920 (Selected Counties) Spouse 1:   Henry Wadkins Spouse 2:   Elizabeth Adkins Marriage Date:   15 Jul 1861 Marriage Place:   Blount Performed By:   Minister of Gospel Surety/Perf. Name:   John Kykendell OSPage:   31 According to the 1850 US Census in Dekalb Co., AL, Eliza was the daughter of Morris and Martha Adkins both born in KY. Siblings were: Washington age 21, Benjamin age 20, Samuel age 18, Andrew age 16, Catharine age 14, James? age 9, and Nancy age 10/12. They were living next ot William Adkins age 22 and Susannah age 24 along with children Nancy age 2 and Morris age 6/12. I'm hoping that this rings a bell with someone. Warm regards, Kaeli kaeliferguson@bellsouth.net

I have not been on teh board for sometime. I have had a lot of problems in my life so have not been able to keep up, I am very sorry but hope things will change now. I lost my brother to cancer and then my daughter to teh same thing with in 5 months. I then got sick and have been in and out of the hospital for the past year. Everything seems to be ok now. This is espically for Jennifer Camperud, and anyone else that is interested. Take a look at the following WEB page: http://www.lightbyte.net/index.html It has a lot of data on the mantooths and the Dunns. They came to Texas togeather along with teh Morelands. One of the Mantooths and one of the Dunns were Doctors in McKenney,TX. There were many intermaggiages between teh three families. The Altoga cemetery listed in the above web site is about 7 miles NE of McKenney. My great greatgrandmother provided the land for teh cemetery and there are many Dunns, Morelands and Mantooth buried there. I have been to visit the place once. I have a great uncle named Robert Mantooth and this may well be teh one married to Mary Gilbert. I would be glad to send Jennifer what I have. I will send you an email. Also to anyone who has tried to email me they have changed my email address. It is now tom.mantooth@comcast.net. Glad to be back, Tom

It is very confusing: Her name is Mary Matilda Lett born April 1849 According to a family journal she has at least three children; Eugene Lett Lucy Jane Lett John O.
