I have a Mary born abt. 1854, Mattie abt 1858, Samantha Louella (called Lou) abt 1860, John William II Dec 11, 1862, Frances abt 1856, I think there was another girl who possible went back to Tenn. Caroline died in Ashland, Al in Clay County and is buried at Mt Ararat Cementry in Bluff Springs in Clay County.I have Mattie married Sam Murphy in April 1931 in Tenn. Samanth Louella married Aden Strickland in Tenn. and John William married Mildred Della Brooks NOv. 4, 1904. Please if anyone has any information about any of these please let me hear from you. John William II is my gggrandfather and I am trying to find out who his gggrandfathe and gggreatmother are. I have it back to his father and mother but I would like to go as far back as I can on my family.

My gggrandmother, Milly Jack Francis Berryhill was born abt 1860 and is listed in the Creek rolls in 1882 at the Tuckabachchee town...I can find absolutely nothing on her parents. She married Alexander Sullins in 1878, they had 6 children, one of which is my ggrandmother...but the line stops at Milly. Any pointers? I have found out that on my mothers side she is part Creek. Her last name before marriage was Mazie Bell Brooks, my Great Uncle was a Barnhill. My Dad was also from a tribe but we aren't able to find out which one yet. His name was James Conrald Austin. If you could render any help I would appreciate it. Thank You, David

    3. Charles, I'll search around for your Native American heritage. My gggrandmother was Georgia Annie Dove Wills, who was Creek, b 06-07-1869, d 02-24-1944 Jack County Texas. Her father was Thomas Dove, and mother Katie Hitt. I can't find anything on Katie Hitt. If anyone has any information on Dove, or Hitt please let me know.     3. Charles, just a comment, Marshall Co. ALA was full of mixed Cherokee people. Gunter's landing was a ferry run by a mixed Cherokee family (Gunters). It may not mean anything but I thought I'd let you know. My ancestor, ie. James Manuel THOMPSON b abt 1848 NC was in Marshall Co. ALA 1880.
