    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Glisson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5R.2ADI/918.3.1 Message Board Post: Hi, I tried to relate all the Glissons I saw online. Many are related. Ours was Joseph Glawson (his name varies from time to time) who married a Sarah Aquila Clark (she had 2 last names before marriage; her dad was Clark). I have tried to trace Aquila and Glawson both, no luck before 1750's North Carolina. I do know about the Seminole migration to Florida. A number of Glissons related to Obediah migrated to Georgia in the early eighteenth century and to Florida also (Alachua and Putnam Counties). Someone told me they were Lumbee. Which is supposed to be the original Raleigh settlers, ex-slaves, Algonquian Indians, and other Indians. A lot of Indian groups may have joined the Seminoles I think. And all got mixed in together. As the Seminole were part Muscogee, you might be right. It's a pain to trace them though. --CEW

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5R.2ADI/789.2 Message Board Post: John Harvey Bratcher was my great grandfather and son of George H. Bratcher and Mary Elizabeth Fowler. He was listed on the Dawes Roll under the Chickasaws along with his parents, siblings, wife and children. To my knowledge there would be no reason to list also under Creek or Cherokee, and the family hadn't gone by "Bradshaw" since leaving Virginia for Tennessee in the second half of the 18th century. Several members of the families were listed in Ardmore, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory, on the 1900 census.

Surnames: Scott Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5R.2ADI/1184.1 Message Board Post: Could your family have come from Kentucky? Could they possibly have moved to Missouri? What year were they born or married? When were they killed? The only way to place them would be to know the year and compare that to a US events timeline. There was a removal of Free Blacks and Native Americans from Platte Missouri in 1859 heading south to Florida where some people were killed along the way. Your Scott family may have been related to the Kentucky Scotts.
