Are you aware that there is the remnants of a community in Talladega County called "Bruner Valley"? It is on Mudd Street, which you access by taking the Northbound exit at Eastaboga on Interstate 20, crossing Highway 78 and continuing on until you see a sign that says Sulphur Springs Hardware. That puts you right in the middle of Bruner Valley. just so you know, the BRUNER name is seen on many of the Dawes rolls, as the owner of the applicant. Some Creek were very well to do and had many slaves. I have seen alot of Dawes applications listing a BRUNER as the owner. This would be in association with surnames I'm working. I am not researching BRUNER and have no further info. Just trying to pass on a tidbit that might be new to you. I too was disappointed to see the website for discount cigarettes on the Creek-Southeast e-mailings. I think it falls right in line with the overuse of alcohol by so many of our brothers and sisters. Let's not continue to distroy ourselves from within our own ranks. Mark :)

Can the Birmingham Library be accessed online or by mail? Both my maternal & paternal families have purported Creek persons from Alabama. Regards, Sha WA. State --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by Declude Virus]
The Birmingham Library archives section is likely to have what you are seeking! It is a great resource for Creek ancestry and in addition, there is a file cabinet that folks have created with numerous files on Creek families that can save you a lot of time and effort. Hope this helps!
