    1. RE: World War I Draft Registration Records
    2. Judy White
    3. This morning I spent some time reading World War 1 Draft Registrations, just looking to see how many Native American Records I could come up with. I searched several states, GA, AR, AL, and Ok just to name a few. It will take a bit of work on your part but you just may be able to find some ancestors using the information listed below. Ancestry has opened up it's World War 1 Draft Registration records for visitors of Access Genealogy for free. This will cover a 14 day period between July 4 - July 17 2005. The only thing required to view the records is an email address and your name. No credit card required! This is not a 14 day trial of all of their material. It is strictly limited to their World War 1 Draft Registration images. http://www.accessgenealogy.com/ In 1917 and 1918, approximately 24 million men living in the United States completed a World War I draft registration card. These registration cards represent approximately 98% of the men under the age of 46. The total U.S. population in 1917-1918 was about 100 million individuals. In other words, close to 25% of the total population is represented in these records. The WWI draft registration cards database can be an extremely useful resource because it covers a significant portion of the U.S. male population in the early twentieth-century. If you had family in the United States during WWI, you are likely to find at least one relative's information within this large collection. In addition, these cards contain more than just names and dates; they contain significant genealogical information such as birthplace, citizenship status, and information on the individual's nearest relative. In general, the registration cards included the following information Full name Home address Date and place of birth Age, race, and country of citizenship Occupation and employer Physical description (hair and eye color, height, disabilities) Additional information such as address of nearest relative, dependent relatives, marital status, father's birthplace, or previous exemption from service Signature. http://www.accessgenealogy.com/ Direct url: http://www.accessgenealogy.com/military/ww1/draft.htm Please feel free to pass this information on to others!! Surnames: SIZEMORE/BAILEY/STIGGINS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5R.2ADI/1220 Message Board Post: We are searching for a male Sizemore who is a direct descendant of Arthur Sizemore, Arthur's son William, or William's son George Sizemore, to participate in the Sizemore DNA project. To date, there have been several different Sizemore lines identified through the DNA project. If you are not familiar with the testing process, it is very simple. You are sent a kit to your home. You take the cotton swab from the kit and run it across the inside of your mouth/cheek, put it back in the self-addressed kit and mail it back to the addressee. We have one test result from a descendant of Arthur Sizemore through his son Absolum and Absolum's son William F. Sizemore. We really need participants from Arthur's other sons and grandsons to compare for proof of the relationship. We have a number of pledges to help pay for the cost of the testing, so if you are or know a male descendant candidate, please contact me: Evelyn Sizemore Leslie, esleslie@bellsouth.net Thanks!!

He was married to Louanna Bolen. They had ten children and one of them was Edward born in 1803. They also had a son named Ephraim born in 1812, he is my GGGG grandfather. The Sizemore family tree is so confusing because there are so many names that are used for generations. I am trying to figure out where exactly Chief Red Bird fits into my tree. If his name was Edward then he must be my GGGGGG grandfather or my GGGGGG grandfather's son. I would love to share information. You can email me at sugarteababy@sbcglobal.net Traci

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5R.2ADI/1219 Message Board Post: I am searching for information on a young man that has been unidentified for 10 years on June 26, 2005. He was found just west of Emporia, Virginia on June 26, 1995. When he was found, he had shoulder length wavy hair that was a lighter brown or possibly what could be considered dark blond, which had at some point been dyed red. The red dye was believed to be temporary due to the fading of the color causing his hair to appear different shades of red, even pink in spots. His eye color is brown. He was about 5’8” to 5’10” and weighted about 160lbs to 170lbs. His left ear was pierced but he was not wearing an earring. His approximate age was 16 to 22 years of age at the time. He had a home-made tattoo of a 5 point star on his left arm. He had perfect teeth never having had any dental repairs. There were no drugs nor alcohol found in his system at the time of the accident. He was wearing blue jeans, blue FILA tennis shoes size 11 1/2, a Grateful Dead, Tour 30th Anniversary 1995 concert shirt and a necklace. His only possessions were a yellow disposable lighter, two concert ticket stubs from the Grat! eful Dead concert that was at RFK stadium in Washington, DC on June 25, 1995. Also included in his possession was a note that read…”To Jason, Sorry we have to go. See you around. Caroline T. and Caroline O.” Someone has to have known this young man from somewhere. Maybe Caroline O. or Caroline T. remembers writing a note to this young man. If anyone can help me in my search, please contact me at trying2id@yahoo.com If anyone has any pictures from the above mentioned concert, please e-mail me copies so that I can use them to try and give him a name to go with the face. They had the audacity to send me their passport info and wanted to know my banking info so they could transfer the funds. 3. Please send money so I can get home, I am stuck here (wherever) and don't have the money to get back home, etc. etc. Do not fall for these claims. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5R.2ADI/1218 Message Board Post: Hello. My name Egor Chernetsov. I live in Kyrgyzstan. I communicate to people who have human feelings and understanding. I not the swindler. I only ask to help to me to get out of that situation in which I have got. My mum one and a half year ago has left from here (from Kyrgyzstan) for Russia, in Smolensk area, in the city of Yelnya. At me with it to leave it has not turned out for the reason, that at me documents were not ready. As a result I have remained one in Kyrgyzstan. Without habitation as we have sold an apartment, and money were necessary to mum on purchase of habitation in Russia. One and a half year it was interrupted by casual earnings. Tried to be engaged in business (to sell computers as it is good in them understand), but a result of it was only that I have remained and without documents. My documents (passport and the identity card) now lays in the mortgage at that person to whom I should money for a computer. Now because of it I cannot be arranged for normal work to earn money and to pay off with him, and then to leave to mum. Now here, in Kyrgyzstan, the internal situation has become aggravated. Recently we had a so-called revolution as a result of which president Askar Akaevich Akaev has been displaced and to authority the opposition has come. It is possible to tell about the reasons of this event very long. But an essence not in most this event and that has followed it. Even now, when to authority the opposition has come, on all country the most natural arbitrariness does not stop. Elementary repartition of the property has begun. That at Акаеве belonged to its relatives, to friends and other, now different methods is transferred to the possession of another, approached to present authority. But as a result simple people from it will not receive anything. In this connection political conditions in republic is not stabilized, and, on the contrary, worsens. And all discontent of indigenous population finally will pour out (as it already was here, in Kyrgyzstan, in 19! 91 in Osh region) on representatives of not radical nationalities. Therefore I do not wish to be here during that moment when the bowl of patience of people will be overflown. My mum will gone 64 years old at this year and I am not assured of it completely not that it will normally transfer if with me something happens (God forbid). As I already spoke above, now I absolutely do not have opportunity to get out from here, from Kyrgyzstan, and to leave for Russia. In communication with all above told by me I address to people who have elementary human understanding and sympathy. I ask to help You financial - who how many can. To pay off with the person to whom I should, and take away from it the documents, and then leave to mum, 2000 dollars are necessary for me. From this money of 1700 dollars is a debts, 100 dollars - on the official registration of papers, necessary for legal registration in territory of Russia, and 200 dollars – for the way (160 - the ticket by the plane up to Moscow, 40 – for the way from Moscow up to Yeln! ya). I in turn swear the health, health of my family, that all of money which I shall receive (I sincerely hope) from someone of You, I in the future shall return. It is in advance immensely grateful. P.S. For those, who will have a desire to check up, whether there is I actually, here my nameplate data: Passport # A0883482 Chernetsov Egor Leonidovich Birth date: 1977, 8th, January Place of birth: Bishkek (Till 1991 - city Frunze) city, Kyrgyzstan The passport is given out on December, 6th, 2000 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, code 50-16 And here is my mother home address in Russia: Chernetsova Nina Viktorovna, Russia, Smolensk region, Yelnya city, microdistrict “Kutuzovskyi”, building 7, app. 32

    3. An inspiring new book about Creek Indian Jack Colbert is finally out, newly available in limited edition directly from the author. The small paperback Taking Control--Creek Roots, Airman Wings, Family Heart, shows how one man's determination, decisiveness, sense of duty, and devotion to family led him to save and improve lives (including his own) and reap just rewards. With the help of the U.S. Air Force and his lifelong wife Helen Ward Colbert of Pensacola, Jack pulled himself from an impoverished childhood in the backwoods of Alabama through adventures that spread around the world. His loving six children commissioned the professional development of this story to honor their father and preserve their heritage. The process has taken more than two years. Some of you offered encouragement and advice, which I appreciated, and asked me to let you know when the book was published, which I am doing here. You are the first to even know about it. If you have no further interest, read no more. If you do, please read on... The book is newly available directly from me, the author and publisher. To order a single copy, please send a check for $11.50 ($10 plus $1.50 for mailing costs) to Berthelot Consulting Inc., 600 Bayou Boulevard, Pensacola, FL 32503. Make the check out to Dr Dolly Berthelot. Please put your return address clearly on the check and put Book: Taking Control on the left blank indicating what the check is for. Allow 30 days for receipt. If you indicate you would like a personal author signing, I'll be happy to oblige. Just tell me what name or names you want the book or books addressed to. Because this is a small paperback, just 60 easy-read pages suitable for adults and older juveniles, shipping is cheaper than most books. Should you want multiple of copies for any purpose, packages of 10 or more copies will be discounted to $9 per copy; packages of 50 or more will be $8 each. Plus reduced per copy mailing costs to be determined by numbers of book ordered and delivered at once. Should you know of any book stores, libraries, or groups that you feel might be interested in this book, or in my life writing services and workshops, for that matter, please let me know and let them know. I believe life stories such as this are important to help people understand and appreciate their own roots and culture and that of other people. From what I can tell, little is available to preserve the real stories of Creek people. I love playing a small part to rectify that. Feel free to share this email with anyone you like.
