    3. Hi Glenda, I saw the 1st email and am familiar with the book However, I cannot comment on the accuracy. Like all books of this type, use them for clues and then search for facts to document the information. Sometimes the bibliography is worth more to me than the book itself. 3. Hi Glenda, I haven't read it but would like to. Some of it is sounds right - some accounts say the volunteers camped near Sizemore's ferry the night before they intercepted the Redsticks at Burnt Corn. The boundary line at that time put his ferry in Clarke County. Suggsville is just above the location of Sizemore's Ferry. Don't know about the "at the end of the Civil War" thing. The Cherokees came from their territory to aid the Redsticks, another reason there was so much bad blood between the Creeks and Cherokees. The Choctaws tried to remain neutral at this point, but there were occasional crossing of paths between all three tribes when they were traveling through each other's territory. The Clarke County Historical Society has a lot of publications and accounts available and they are located at Suggsville. Where did you find the CD? 1. Re: [CREEK-SOUTHEAST] Hadley
    2. Hi Richard - Jane Hadley's parents were Benjamin Hadley, b. 1760, Cumberland, NC; he married Betsy Kennerson in abt. 1809, Covington, MS (Sources: Hastie-Thompson book, History of Baldwin County book, and LDS records). Parents of Benjamin are Thomas Hadley, b. 1728, Newcastle, Delaware and Mary Thompson of Chester, PA. (Source: book, Hadley Genealogy). This particular line goes all the way back to Ireland, Scotland and England. Your Hadley could be one of the siblings who migrated to Georgia or SC and married into the Pee Dees. So much to learn. So little time. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2008 10:20 PM Hadley is one of the Savannah River Creek families in my heritage. You might want to check them out also. When you find a name you are interested in, write down the number. 3. Kathie, Glad you are passing some of these links along and I hope others decide to read them. I know you were already aware of the Sizemore groups that claim Melungeon (Portuguese/Indian mainly) and Sephardic Jews and quite a few other interesting origins through your genealogy research in the upper easterm states. Over the years I have read and studied and corresponded with many of the authors of such websites, just so I could form an opinion. While I do NOT agree with Stephen Pony Hill's comments on the Sizemore Creek families and emailed him to tell him so, I do think he has a lot of well-researched material on his site (and I did tell him, that, also....:-) Until we finally learn where Arthur Sizemore, halfblood Creek Indian's, ancestors were from, I just have to say I don't know and neither does anybody else at this point! His name was James Hunt born 1765 he was married to a woman named Sally He moved from South Carolina to Georgia I believe then moved to Tennesse about the time N.A. were kicked from Georgia. When were the Creek pushed out of South Carolina? I just am trying to figure this all out. Carol Reed Sircoulomb
