I see on the Creed List in 1999 a posting by Sarah Patterson - her email no longer works - "my oldest know Creed Came from came from Kemper co Mississipp. Census says his father was born in N.C. We don't his fathers name. I found a Cornelious Creed in Onslow Co, NC, who married a Mary Booth Carey (widow) who might have been the unknow Creed,s father. The reason I think that is the first child was Mary and second was Cornelious. The first Cornelious Creed was single on the Comberland Co, NC. census 10 years before in 1790 he was listed as between 16 & 26 years old. He was with Mary on 1800 cenus and 1 male &1 female children. I have written to several years ago under name Sarah DeCastro. Sarah Creed Patterson, Alabama [email protected] (Texas)" She appears to be guessing at this possible ancestry She also has a website but again the email address does not work ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 08, 2008 4:45 AM Subject: Re: [CREED] Onslow > Richard: I found one marriage record. Now, I'm confused. Here http://files.usgwarchives.org/nc/onslow/willa/cary02.txt is a last will and testiment dated 1812 from Thomas Carey whos wife was Mary Cary , bought land from Cornelius Creed. Are these 2 different Mary Carys and 2 different Cornelius'? If the will was proved in 1812, how was Mary on the 1800 census?
